What are Culturally Coded BOOKTALKS?

Culturally Coded BOOKTALKS are thought-provoking discussions about author J. A. Faulkerson’s nonfiction and fiction book titles. The discussions usually last about an hour, and are designed to prompt serious dialogue about some of the common themes mentioned in his books.

Which nonfiction and fiction titles will be discussed and why?

Titles that are currently available for discussion include The Thug Whisperer (short story), Real Men Raise CHAMPIONS: Unleashing Your Inner COACH (self-help, motivation), and A Different Kind of Prejudice (dramatic screenplay).

The Thug Whisperer speaks to the importance of respecting our elders and making wise decisions.

Real Men Raise CHAMPIONS speaks to the importance of men leading selflessly and righteously to reclaim and secure peace and prosperity for their children.

And A Different Kind of Prejudice speaks to the importance of a father’s validation and how it makes a world of difference in a child’s life.

Who facilitates the Culturally Coded BOOKTALKS?

A certified parent educator through Active Parenting Publishers, Inc., J. A. is committed to showing all parents how to positively influence their children’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  He earned his Master’s of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, and has worked with professionals in both the public and private sectors for over 20 years to improve outcomes for low-income children and their families.

How much would it cost to host a Culturally Coded BOOKTALK at my facility?

A $25 nonrefundable deposit is required to have J. A. Faulkerson come to your facility to facilitate a Culturally Coded BOOKTALK. Additionally, the host individual or agency must agree to purchase a minimum of five (5) autographed copies of the book being discussed three weeks prior to the scheduled Culturally Coded BOOKTALK. Customers outside of the Washington, DC/Metro area would be asked to cover an agreed-upon portion of J. A. Faulkerson’s travel and lodging expenses.
